While helping new mountain bike people at Harris Lake with swindunbar (12 Sep 2009) I took a spill while going down a steep dip and went head first into the ground. swindunbar arranged for us to do some mountain biking in Morrisville. I have not been there in probably a year or two and I'm impressed that these have matured. Last time I was there my dad fell on one of the drops, but no permanent damage. Glad we went early as it was going to be hot and muggy today. Thanks to much pestering from swindunbar this weekend, after 1-2 months of not getting out on the trails I finally got on the bike this weekend for some good riding. First was was "286" which is near the airport across the street from Rocky Road. This was a new one to me and still very new. Normally swindunbar, Dana and I hit the trails on some simple stuff. Today we did something else new and headed up to New Light which is north of Raleigh near Hwy 98. Dana, swindunbar and I planned some mountain biking this weekend. First stop was Harris Lake on Friday morning. We got through all of the trails in about an hour and had the sweat to prove it. temperature was not too bad, but the humidity was stifling. Dana and I hit the Little River trail just northwest of Durham this morning. Glad we started out early with this awful heat. It was already close to 80°F by the time we started. Dad asked me to help out at a bike/foot race held at Umstead Park today. I was part of the bike patrol in charge of zipping up and down the trail just checking on people. Only one person went down when he twisted his knee going down a hill ( Read more... )
